Who processes your data?
Bucketlist.nl is responsible for personal data processed through this website. Contact support@bucketlist.nl with privacy questions.
Which data do we use?
Depending on the features you use, we process your name, email address, account and bucket-list data, plans, likes, optional gender, voluntarily selected departure city, newsletter preference, messages, technical security data and information about outbound affiliate clicks. Without an account, a like is linked only to a random, protected browser code. Your name and liked experiences are visible only to other signed-in members; member profiles are not publicly indexed.
Why and on what legal basis?
We use data to provide accounts and plans, secure and improve the site, answer questions and comply with legal duties. We only send newsletters with consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Service providers and partners
We use suppliers for hosting, authentication, email and security. When you follow a partner link, that party receives the technical data needed to open the page and measure a possible referral. Its own privacy policy then applies.
Cookies and local settings
Necessary cookies and local storage support sessions, security, language, dream-area, anonymous likes and a voluntarily selected departure city. The protected like cookie prevents duplicate likes from the same browser. If you later sign in or activate an account in that browser, we add those likes to your account and remove the anonymous link. If you choose ‘Use my location’, your browser sends the one-time coordinates directly to BigDataCloud to convert them into a city name. Bucketlist.nl then stores only the city and optional country code, not your exact coordinates. You can change or remove this preference in your profile.
Retention and security
We retain personal data no longer than needed for its stated purpose and legal duties. We use appropriate technical and organisational security measures, although no online service can eliminate every risk.
Your rights
You may request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability and may object to processing. You can withdraw consent and complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority. Email support@bucketlist.nl; we may verify your identity first.
